FRANK BURETTA
FRANK BURETTA
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buretta reside in the western part of Blissville Twp.
3/4 of a mile east of the Washington Co. Line. They have lived on the same
farm since their marriage in 1911.
Frank, born July 24, 1888, in Spring Valley, Ill., the oldest son of Steve
and Pauline Kuss Buretta. The family moved to Jefferson Co. in 1903 and
bought a farm in Blissville Twp. Frank married Anna Someiski, b. 1888,
daughter of John and Agnes Fortra Someiski. Anna was a native of Blissville
Twp. The early ancestors of both Frank and Anna had come to America from Germany
and Poland in the early 1870's. They first settled Wisconsin, later in northern
Ill. and Chicago, and eventually to the farm land of southern Illinois.
Frank and Anna were hard working people, and were among the first to apply lime
to the land, use commercial fertilizers, and to promote improved roads. They
have been members of the Jefferson Co. Farm Bureau for many years, and when Frank
was younger, took part in the civic affairs, and politics of Blissville Twp.
They are life long members of St. Michaels Church of Radom, Ill. They are the
parents of four children; Leonard, deceased; Steve lives at home with his parents;
Frances (Leo) Czerniejewski; and Agnes (Anthony) Dreas.
