Oscar Dean Dare born September the 10th 1871 at Dareville,
the son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Dare at the age of sixty
three years, six months and twenty two days.
His death being caused from the third stroke of paralysis,
the last but fatal attack which occurred on Sunday morning.
He was married to Sarah Knowles Cremens September the 15th 1894
and to this union was born two children. The passing of his wife
thirty two years ago was a grief that was never forgotten. His
care and devotion to his small motherless children can never be
equaled. He was a kind and obliging neighbor, a true friend, and
had many excellent friends who will greatly miss his ever cheerful
disposition. He would look on the bright side of all things, and
was a great source of comfort to the afflicted and distressed and
always ready to lend a helping hand,
His wife, father, and mother, one brother and one sister preceded
him in death. Those that survive are his son, Guy Dare of Dareville,
and daughter, Roxie Dare Wells of Mt. Vernon, a sister Alice Dare,
other relatives and friends without number.
We bid him our last farewell here in his home community, hoping
that some bright day we shall know that all things done well by One
who knows best for all.
Do you mourn when another star,
Shines out from another sky?
Do you weep when the voice of war,
And the rage of conflict meet?
Why should your tears roll down,
Or your heart be sorely riven?
For another gem in the Savior's crown,
And another soul in Heaven.
