Mrs. Mills Davis Dies At Age 58
Mrs. Gussie Florence Davis of RFD 1, Mt. Vernon,
wife of Mills Davis, died at 9:37 o'clock last night
at Good Samaritan Hospital where she had been a patient
for the past 11 days. Her age was 58 years, seven months
and seven days.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Myers
Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard W. Stephenson officiating.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call
at any time after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Davis was born February 1, 1891 in Jefferson county, the
daughter of William T. and Caroline (LaTurno) Dare. She was a
respected lifetime resident of this county. On April 12, 1910
she was married, in Jefferson county, to Mills Davis, who survives.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the South Hickory Hill Christian church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Eliza Holloway
and Mrs. Sarah Barnett of Benton, Mrs. Mary Smith and Mrs. Minerva Bullock
of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Bertha Olomon of Kasson, Minn.
