Services For Hershel HALE Saturday
Funeral services for Hershel HALE will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at
the United Free Will Baptist Church of Ina. Mr. HALE, 83, died
Wednesday, January 2, 1985, at his home on Bonnie Route 1.
The Rev. David SHORES will officiate at the services. Interment
will be in Kirk Cemetery, Ina, IL. Visitation at Johnston Funeral
Home of Ina will be Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Saturday morning
and from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. HALE was a retired farmer. He was a native of Franklin County,
born May 27, 1901 to J. Samuel and Sarah (HOOD) HALE. He was a charter
member and deacon of the United Free Will Baptist Church. On October 8, 1922,
in Ina, Mr. HALE married Ophel (HODGE) HALE. She survives, along with three
daughters, Mrs. Clayburn (Thara) BEVIS, Paris; Mrs. Floyd (Dolores) PAYNE, Ina,
and Mrs. Nolen (Voris) Adams, Belle Rive.
He also leaves 32 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Verne HALE,
Mt. Vernon and Walter HALE, Whittington, and a sister, Grace NEAL, Ina.
A daughter, Jacqueline, died in infancy.
