Mrs. Mary Evelyn (Eva) HOPKINS, 88, of Dahlgren died at 1:55 a.m.
today in Friendship Manor Nursing Home at Nashville. Funeral services
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren
with the Rev. R. L. SCHLAGG officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery
near Dahlgren. The body will lie in state at the funeral home where friends
may call after 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. HOPKINS was born July 28, 1879, in Jefferson County, the daughter
of George and Mary Elizabeth (DUNCAN) GIBBS. She was first married to
Ace PAGE, who preceded her in death. She later married George HOPKINS,
who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Norval PAGE, of Belle Rive; a daughter, Mrs.
Floe SHERLEY of Dahlgren; a sister, Mrs. Ella McCLURE of Mattoon; 6
grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. HOPKINS was a member
of Sugar Camp Baptist Church.
