Mary L. HOPKINS, 92, of Belle Rive, died Tuesday, April 18, at 1:45 a.m.
at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held
today at 2:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Chapel in Dahlgren, with the
Rev. Gary WHIPPLE officiating. Burial will be in Flint Cemetery at Belle Rive.
Mrs. Hopkins was born October 5, 1885, in Belle Rive, the daughter of
John Wesley and Minta (FARMER) SURSA. On August 27, 1905, she married
Goaley HOPKINS, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Belle Rive
Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy THRELKELD of Kankakee and
Mrs. Georgia CORLEE of El Reno, Okla.; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
